A COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION OF VISUAL CRYPTOGRAPHY AND ITS ROLE IN SECURE COMMUNICATIONS
Elham Shahab, Hadi Abdolrahimpour
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4201
Abstract: Secret sharing approach and in particular Visual Cryptography (VC) try to address the security issues in dealing with images. In fact, VC is a powerful technique that combines the notions of perfect ciphers and secret sharing in cryptography. VC takes an image (secret) as an input and encrypts (divide) into two or more pieces (shares) that each of them can not reveal any information about the main input. The decryption way in this scenario is done through superimposing shares on top of each other to receive the input image. No computer participation is required, thus showing one of the distinguishing features of VC. It is claimed that VC is a unique technique in the sense that the encrypted message can be decrypted directly by the human visual system.

QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT (QFD): A SIX SIGMA TOOL FOR PERFORMANCE MONITORING OF READY MIXED CONCRETE
Debasis Sarkar, Riki Panchal
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4204
Abstract: Six sigma tools appear to be quite effective for monitoring the quality of Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC). Quality function deployment (QFD) is such a Six sigma tool which can prove to be very effective for monitoring the performance of RMC. Customer satisfaction is a very important component for RMC plants to maintain its quality and reputation. Thus Voice of Customer (VoC) which is a part of QFD deserves to have a special focus in formulation of QFD model. QFD process can be integrated with available statistical process control tools like CUSUM with v-mask, RACUSUM and MVCUSUM to develop a more robust methodology for quality and performance monitoring of RMC. This paper is an attempt to develop a QFD model which is customised to monitor the quality of RMC by giving priority towards customer requirements and satisfaction. Case studies of two RMC plants in Ahmedabad region of Gujarat, India have been considered for this research work. It is observed that for all the RMC plants there is an urgent need to establish a "customer care unit" which can address the issues of the customers and communicate the problems to the respective departments for quick and early action.

EFFECT OF SIZE OF SPECIMEN ON COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF FLY ASH CONCRETE
Venkateswara Rao A., Srinivasa Rao K.
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4206
Abstract: Concrete, one of the maximum consumed and extensively used, as a principal construction material in the world with a vital role in the construction field due to its abundant advantages such as strength, durability, easy of fabrication, non- combustibility properties, it possesses over other construction materials. During recent years due to its added advantages over standard concrete, the use of high strength concrete for construction has become common, especially for multistoried structures, bridges and high rise buildings etc. As the cost of concrete is high and in of view of economy, now a day's fly ash is being used in construction replacing by mass of cement. The characteristic compressive strength of concrete is being used in design of structures, use of this value is a problem since the control specimen sizes and shapes are varying from country to country. In India, the characteristic compressive strength is usually measured based on 150 mm cubes, whereas the ACI code of practice specifies the design compressive strength based on the standard 150 x300 mm cylinder in the design of reinforced structures. In this context the size and shape of concrete is an important parameter for the compressive strength, which necessitates the study of effect of size and shape of the specimen. Hence in this study different sizes and shape of specimens are prepared cured and tested in compression at an age of 7, 28, 56 and 91 days.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4210
Abstract: One of the most important challenges of on-site partial discharge measurement is to capture the original signal in a noisy environment. The different sources of noise which includes thermal or resister noise added by the measuring circuit, signals due to electromagnetic interferences. Sophisticated and proper methods are required to detect and measured the partial discharge signals. Fortunately, due to the advancement in the analog to digital conversion techniques, signals can be easily captured with the help of interfacing devices. The signal can be extracted and converted into Excel sheets. This paper deals with de-noising of partial discharge signals during the breakdown phenomena in solid dielectrics. Several techniques are investigated and applied to the captured partial discharge signals. For the enhancement the insulation quality of the dielectric media, diagnosis plays a very important role in a power system. For diagnostic test such as detection, location and identification are used to find defects or faults and assess the ageing degree of the dielectric material. Wavelet Transform technique used to suppress a noise from partial discharge signal requires reasonable mother wavelet, amount of scales and thresholds to produce its best result. Results indicate that this technique not only attain better dancing effect, but also improve the sensitivity of partial discharge detection.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4213
Abstract: Over a century, human beings have consumed this easily available finite resource very inefficiently. This increasing energy consumption based on fossil reserves has resulted in financial instability, climate change, major depletion of the reserves, and political turmoil in the world. Initially generation of electricity from large power plants was encouraged; because it was considered to be more efficient than a large numbers of small dispersed power plants. Because of this trend in development along with depletion of fossil fuel reserves and the associated widespread environmental pollution, it has become urgent to find energy alternatives that are cost effective, sustainable and environment friendly. Renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro and biomass provide energy security and will play an important role in the future to supply increasing global energy demand. Research and development in renewable energy technologies confirm that renewable energy sources are undoubtedly sustainable and that green technologies can shift global dependence away from fossil fuels.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4217
Abstract: The induction motors are predominant in industrial applications. The motor runs on three phase supply and an acceptable temperature maintain the loads at desired conditions. But if any phase goes missing or there is increase in the temperature of the windings it damages the motor. Therefore, this project helps to provide protection to the industrial motors by removing the power to the motor immediately if any of the phases misses out of the three phases, or if the temperature of the motor exceeds the threshold value. Thus, this project is to develop an induction motor protection system for protecting the motor from any damages occurring from single phasing and over temperature conditions.

A REVIEW ON DESIGN & ANALYSIS WITH WEIGHT OPTIMIZATION OF TWO WHEELER GEAR SET
Yuvraj P. Mali, Dr. E.R. Deore
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4218
Abstract: Simplest type of gear is well known as spur gear. Spur gears have a wide variety of applications. These are most commonly applicable in auto motives. The failure of gears occurs when the working stress exceeds the maximum permissible stress. Contact stress analysis between two spur gear teeth was considered in different contact positions representing a pair of mating gears during rotation. These stresses are proportional to the amount of power transmitted while the design could offer favorable or adverse conditions for generation of the same. This project intends to identify the magnitude of the stresses for a given configuration of a two wheeler gear transmitting power while trying to find ways for reducing weight of the gear. The philosophy for driving this work is the lightness of the gear for a given purpose while keeping intact its functionality. The process constraints for manufacturing the gear also needs to be considered while recommending alternative/s. Ease of incorporating the new feature for weight reduction over the existing process of manufacturing and the magnitude of volume of mass (or weight) reduced could be considered as the key parameters for assessment for this work. This study will focus on the weight optimization of the two wheeler gear set, keeping the torque transmitting capacity intact, thus reducing the material cost of the gear.

CELLULOSE ON MISCIBILITY AND THERMAL STUDIES OF ACETATE AND MODIFIED INDUSTRIAL WASTE LIGNIN BLENDS
Ashok Nerella
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4219
Abstract: An industrial waste lignin was modified by esterification using acetic acid. The modified lignin (ML) was blended upto 50 wt% with cellulose acetate. The blends were prepared by solution blending method. The thermal properties and miscibility of cellulose acetate (CA) and modified lignin (ML) blends were investigated by thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR) over the entire range of composition. Although the modified lignin shifts the onset of CA decomposition to lower temperatures, the CA/ML blends are thermally more stable than CA over the wider temperature range. The TGA results suggest all blends are compatible. These results correlate well with the glass transition temperature (Tg) data where single Tg has been obtained for all these blends. There is a slight decrease in Tg as the lignin wt% increase in blends, where in (70/30) composition shows higher value than CA. No phase separation was found in SEM images of blends. The FTIR analysis revealed the formation of blending between cellulose acetate and modified lignin.

BRAIN MRI SEGMENTATION USING CANNY EDGE DETECTION TECHNIQUE
Vandana Rajput, Nirupma Tiwari, Manoj Ramaiya
DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4224
Abstract: Image segmentation is a very tough technical process in the field of image processing. It is mandatory to go for the pre-processing before actual identification and segregation of ROI in MRI. Edge detection is based on the identification of the bounadries on the basis of similar brightness level and continuity of some pattern in the pixels. It is not possible to separate the some segment without applying the pre-processing of the image. . The applications of medical image segmentation are 3D reconstruction and quantitative analysis. Our experiment uses the MRI because this type of images give the most reliable image of the internal human organs like brain.. In this paper, the common problems of the image segmentation are explored and a novel method of image detection has been used. The classical image segmentation methods have been discussed for example gradient based operators were used usedfor edge detection, but these methods could deliver in the noisy surroundings. In the medical applications, the precision cannot be compromised with. To overcome these difficulties, we have proposed Canny edge detection technique prior to Non-Local Fuzzy C-Means Clustering technique for the segmentation. Quantifying brain structures in such large databases cannot be practically accomplished by expert neuroanatomists using hand-tracing. Rather, this research will depend upon automated methods that reliably and accurately segment and quantify large number of brain regions. At present, there is little guidance available to help clinical research groups in choosing such tools. This work is targeted to find out and establish more reliable segmentation technique as compared to expert hand tracing. The proposed approach consistently gives better results for various noise levels in the image compared to the reference schemes. This method is used for detecting brain region based on their energy function. In order to compare between them, one slice of MRI image tested with these methods. The traditional and proposed edge detection algorithms are implemented in MATLAB and results of proposed method are presented and compared with traditional approach. [1]

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4226
Abstract: The field of socially assistive robotics is growing but has not yet been properly defined and circumscribed. There has been significant attention given to and great progress made in contact assistive robotics. Currently, there is no clear definition of robots that provide assistance through interaction and without physical contact, namely socially assistive robotics. Assistive robots in smart home environments have been suggested as possible cost-effective care solutions to demographic changes characterized by an increasingly elderly population. The vision is that service robots are available in the home to help and assist elderly residents. This paper proposes a smart home companion robot - CYBORG. This robot can be used to save power to switch off unnecessary lights. It can be used as an alarm to remind the family members about important activities. It will also help people clean their homes and water plants. The key feature is that the interface for all the functions will be simple allowing elderly people or their relatives make the robot learn activities in the smart home and teach it to carry out behaviours in response to these activities. This mechanism provides support, assistance and active engagement over time along with personalization.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4227
Abstract: Unmanned moving vehicles are nowadays largely used in environment monitoring system. In order to identify the leakage of gas in a housing area or an industry or in an agricultural area, it can be easily monitored and detected by the sensors that are embedded on a moving vehicle. A remote controlled vehicle is used in the proposed system. With help of camera attached to this the area where hazardous gas leakage can be identified. In case of emergency like fire explosion in some other area the vehicle can be manually moved to that location. The information about the gas leakage is transferred through ZIGBEE. GPS is used to trace the location where leakage has happened. The leakage of harmful gas in agricultural area, housing area and industrial area can be detected more accurately.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4229
Abstract: PbTiO3 nanoparticles were prepared at low temperatures using the sol-gel auto combustion method. XRD analysis confirmed the formation of single phase tetragonal structure without any impurity phases. Using XRD data we have calculated lattice constant (a and c), unit cell volume (V), X-ray density (ρx), bulk density (ρB), porosity (P%) and average crystallite size (t) was calculated. The average crystallite size (D) was found to be ~42 nm. The polarization versus electric field (P-E) loops showed a well saturated hysteresis loop at room temperature confirming the ferroelectric nature of the prepared sample.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4232
Abstract: Capillary tubes are used as expansion device in low capacity refrigeration machines like domestic refrigerators and window type air conditioners. The advantages of the capillary tube over other expansion devices are simple, inexpensive and cause compressor to start at low torque as the pressure across the capillary tube equalize during the off-cycle. The ?ow characteristics of refrigerants through capillary tubes have been studied extensively in past six decades, both experimentally and analytically, most of these studies mainly focused on straight capillary tubes. In this thesis, the effects of the relevant parameters on the flow characteristic of R134a and R-22 flowing through adiabatic helical capillary tubes were experimentally studied. The capillary tubes' diameter, coil diameter, and parameters relating to flow conditions such as inlet pressures and degree of sub cooling were the major parameters investigated. In this thesis, the CFD analysis is to determine the heat transfer rate, pressure drop, velocity, mass flow rate and heat transfer coefficient for the fluids R134A and R-22 with different tube and coil diameters. Thermal analysis is to determine the temperature distribution and heat flux for copper and aluminum as tube materials.3D modeling is done pro-engineer and analysis is done in ANSYS software.

DOI: 10.17148/IARJSET.2017.4234
Abstract: Presence of high concentration of toxic elements in drinking water causes serious health problems. Ground and Rain water is the prime sources of drinking water in the almost areas of Churu district. Ground water in areas of Rajgarh tehsil in churu district is contaminated with high concentration of chloride, fluoride, arsenic, nitrate, etc natural elements. These elements play important role in health care. Fluorosis is a main health issue occurs due to use of fluoride contaminated ground water. The high concentration (>1.5-3mg/l) of fluoride ion in drinking water mainly effect on bone and teeth problems. Nitrate derived from oxidation of nitrogen is also cause of pollution in ground wate. Nitrate can undergo endogenous reduction to nitrite and nitrosation of nitrites can form N-nitroso compounds that are potent carcinogens and affect the health of people in the area. Excess concentration of nitrites causes diarrhea and blue baby syndrome in children. The aim of the present study is to understand the contamination level of, fluoride, chloride and nitrate, alkalinity, hardness and TDS of drinking water and their effects in people of Rajgarh tehsil. A total 28 samples of ground water were collected from different areas tehsil. After analysis of samples, it was observed that chemical constituents of ground water were not as per the permissible ranges of world health organization.
