Abstract: Related with the success of a hospital, the best performance of the nurses is the key to success. Success in carrying out the work and the formation of a comfortable environment due to the influence of communication and transformational leadership style can make the nurses achieve job satisfaction. Job satisfaction that arises will certainly have an impact on improving the performance of nurses in the hospital, it is expected that problems that occur related to the low performance of the nurses can be resolved properly. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of transformational leadership style and communication on the performance of nurses with mediation of nurses' job satisfaction. Respondents used were 115. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that the transformational leadership style had an effect on the nurses' job satisfaction, the transformational leadership style had an effect on the nurses' performance, the communication did not affect the nurses' job satisfaction, the communication did not affect the nurses' performance and the nurses' job satisfaction had no effect on the nurses' performance.
