Abstract: In this modern era of communication optical fiber has emerged as an efficient and viable mode for communication. Though optical fiber communication lot of benefits, dispersion is that the main performance limiting issue. Dispersion severely degrades the performance of fiber. There are numerous ways for dispersion compensation. The fiber is usually used in telecommunication system due to its characteristics that include little size or dimension, low loss and low interferences from outside surroundings. There are numerous varieties of optical fiber compensators, however Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is often chosen as necessary parts to compensate the dispersion in optical communication system.
